artist's statement
Copper has always fascinated me and until recently, my wall-panels were created by using vitreous-enamel and fusing it to copper in a kiln. In the past two years, I have become enamored of texture and have been working with rusted metals, patinas and a variety of found metals. They have been combined as collages. It is very satisfying to work without a kiln and attempt to achieve surface-interest through a variety of methods for coloring and texturing to produce my current wall-structures.
